Just write everything down and check things off as he answer the questions.

When you are sitting there tongue-tied, look down at the list and go oh,

and .... It doesn't matter if the Q's are in any specific order,

the docs are used to people rambling and jumping from one thing to another.

Write down the answers too -- things can get mighty complicated.
