Guest guest
Hi Ladies, I guess the post I tried yesterday never made it for some reason - so here goes again: My husband and I decided to start ttc #1 last April. After going off bcps, I became pg in June. In August, I had a d & c for a blighted ovum. The OB/GYN I was seeing told me to give it 6-8 weeks for AF to show. Since I had never charted temps or anything before, I decided to start charting so that I might know when to expect AF. Even before bcps, I was always on-time, with perfect 28 day cycles (no rotten tomatoes, please!). So, I started charting about 6 weeks post d & c, I had a temp dip and rise for 12 days, then a drop. I had PMS, AF cramps, etc., but no flow. My OB/GYN tried Provera, the Premarin and Provera, then finally bcps at 3/day (not a fun little experiment, I might add!). Suzanne, he ALSO told me that my body just needed time to heal from the surgery and the pg during the 5 months that this was dragging on!! And, my OB/GYN NEVER looked at my temp charts or made any conclusions from the fact that I was getting AF cramps at the right times. Finally, he referred me to an RE. I was able to get an appt. 10 days later and on the 1st appt., he did a complete exam, u/s, bloodwork, etc. 2 days later, I went back for an office hysteroscopy. MY RE had trouble getting the scope in and he literally had to shove it in. It only went about 2-3 cm into my uterus, and by then I was in tears, so he pulled it out and stopped. 5 days later, he did a laparoscopy and operative hysteroscopy. He removed scar tissue from my cervix and the opening to the uterus. As he explained to me, my cervix was blocked by this scar tissue and although I was probably having normal cycles, the blood flow was going into my tubes. Well, I posted about my follow-up and now it's just wait and hopefully starting ttc again in a few weeks. I'm just so relieved that everything makes sense and that it may be resolved. I am worried about future problems. I also wonder if I scarred because my OB/GYN did a sloppy d & c or do I just scar easily? I am switching OB/GYNs, but will be sure to tell him how things turned out. I have heard that it is extremely rare to develop Asherman's after a one time, non-emergency d & c, such as mine. But I have met one other woman that has had this happen, so I guess I'll always wonder if my OB/GYN was partially responsible. Anyhow, sorry this got so long. I hope everyone has a good weekend. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
