Guest guest
, glad you posted! Sorry you had such an awful Saturday. Different thing can be so overwhelming to our kids and often it is something we would not have expected. We saw the Cirque du Solei on video and thought it was pretty amazing, I can't even imagine what it would have been like to see a performance. Ah well. Eventually maybe. Putter did this at Sophie's ballet studio open house a year or two ago. There was a pianist... Salli
Guest guest
- , Sorry about the bad saturday, and the money wasted. I know its also frustrating to deal with overcoming many things and something like this happens. My son still had trouble with sounds, etc at that age. Its probably that your son isnt used to this type of thing, with all kinds of sensory bombardment, because thats what it is. It still sounds like your son is doing well though. Guest guest
we tried taking to the circus (got free tickets & it was across the street) last year, when he was 24 months- and he freaked out. I was surprised because loud noises usually don't bother him- but i think it was the Tent in connection to the music, clapping and pa system. Sorry it was such a bad experience for you. -
Guest guest
Hi , Glad you decided to post! Just talking about stuff here does help. Sorry your little guy got so scared and you couldn't see the Cirque de Soleil. I know, sometimes you just don't know how these kids will react to something..when you think they will react badly..they fool you and do fine..when you think something will go easy..wrong..they react badly. I cannot figure out what scared him so much>> So sorry this didn't go well; we have stopped even trying to go to things like that---too much noise, too much to smell, too much to see, too many people for him to keep track of. To tell the truth, my NT kids aren't all that fond of the circus; when they were little we went to the Shriner's Circus---I couldn't believe all the racket. They fired off LOUD canons (sp?) every time you turned around. My kids begged to leave...and that was before was even around. Maybe the next outing will be better? Or at least cheaper...just in case. :-) Raena
Guest guest
Sorry your plans all turned into mush, . You should be proud in the fact that you at least gave it a shot. See, someone like me would not even ATTEMPT it!! You are one brave woman. A circus can be awfully stimulatory to the senses.... But even so, I can imagine your disappointment, and with such an event, I'm sure you had your hopes up. Perhaps next time will be better. I sure hope so. He probably didn't want to miss it any more than you did, but obviously, now was just not the time. When you fail, try again. <LATER... MUCH later!!!> Grace A disasterous event... > To all- > > I read this list daily, I love all the inspiration in > all of the posts. Guest guest
Hey , Sorry your trip didn't work out. I would love to see Cirque de Soliel. Many many times we haved planned special " treats " for like going to the beach or to a carnivla onyl to come home early because he had a meltdown. We keep trying, though. How verbal is your son? Can he tell you what scared him? Glad you decided to jump in. Welcome to the list! Tuna Get more from the Web. Guest guest
, I've seen your name somewhere before. Have you ever posted? Welcome anyway! I'm so sorry you had to leave! I would have been excited too. If it was noisy, or a bunch of people were milling about, I can picture him getting panicked.
