Guest guest
Interesting development... The online bookseller amazon.com maintains several 'bestseller lists' under the sub-heading 'recovery' within a broad category called 'health, mind, and body'. A few weeks ago several of these lists featured 'contra' literature in prominent positions. As I recall, 'Moderation Management' was #2 in Alcoholism, and 'Rational Recovery...' was #1 in Substance Abuse. Books by Ragge, Bufe, and Fox occupied places in the top 20 on one or more lists. Fingarette's 'Heavy Drinking' was there, and a few others. Today the lists have been restructured and all of these books have mysteriously vanished. The only item critical of the 12-step movement that I noticed was Peele's 'Diseasing of America.' Amazon is still selling the books but they have made sure that nobody is going to come across them serendipitously. Wally T.
