What a lousy day I had:

Take the cat to the vet to get neutered. GO to my gyn for a follow up to

his finding the lump. He says that he doesn't think they ultrasounded right

over the lump, which is under the aureola. He refers me to a surgeon. That

appointment is the morning of which I am supposed to go away on business for

three days and RUN a conference for 30 people.

Then I go to the heart doctor. My blood test results are in: I have to

have another fasting blood to recheck my glucose as it's high. Then he

wants me to get my bad cholesterol down by lowering my fat intake, which I

am not prepared to do. It's not even in the high range.

And, I think I may have to stop a medication that has helped me a lot.

Pick up my cat at the vets and they tell me no playing between the cat and

the dog for a week and to keep them separated if they play at all. I can't

keep them separated except by putting the cat in the cellar or keeping corky

in his crate, which he is never in anymore, full time.

And to make matters worse, I had to take a full day off work for all this

crap. And oh, at the heart doctor, I weighed five lbs. more than I did six

months ago when I was there (which WAS my all time low but I thought this

morning I was back there, guess NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I would have preferred to spend the day in bed. The only thing left is to

go to the chiropractor and have him hurt my neck. Off I go.

My overall cholesterol is good. My bad cholesterol is borderline high. It

makes me wonder if the way I am eating on this diet, lots of fat in cream

cheese and cheese is bad for the bad cholesterol. It's just me. THe doctor

has no problem with me eating high protein and low carb, he just wants me to

lower the fat. But that will be very hard to do on this diet. For me

anyway. I am not sure what I will do. To tell the truth, I am more

concerned about my glucose being high, that's why I have to have another

test. Why on earth would that be high on this diet? I can't remember if

maybe I had a candy binge in the days before I had the blood test. Anyway,

he said I could be on my way to being diabetic, isn't that great news.

Corky:

Were you tested prior to eating this way?

From what I understand, it is the fats COMBINED with carbs that cause high

cholesterol and blocked arteries. I'm not a medical professional, but I

thought I'd share that. I wonder if you can just change the way you

combine your foods...

No I didn't get tested prior to eating this way. I do know that ten years

ago I had a much better ratio of good to bad, or vice versa, than I do now.
