It's refreshing to know that there are other people out there who beleive in alternative medicne. I was diagnosed with MS in August 2006. The doctor I saw performed one mri and did not run any other tests. The mri showed a few brain lesions so the doctor recommended that I start taking injections for MS right away. I refused to take the medicine and like most people here I was trying to find out what was causing my MS so I could treat the cause. I changed my diet and started taking supplements and I was doing Yoga and seemed to be fine for a year and a half. I never looked into other things like lyme disease, candida and many other things that could have been the cause. Anyway, Now I am having an attack again and I have an apppointment with an alternative doctor who is also an MD. I am going to have her check for lyme and candida. Does anyone have any suggestions about what other tests can be done? I really do NOT want to take conventional medicine used to treat MS and I definitely do NOT want to take Steroids for the attack I'm having now but I really need to recover from this attack so can anyone recommend an anti inflammatory other than steroids? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Shea --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
I'll have to support pineapple and turmeric. I have used both with excellent results. I still use Turmeric daily, Rexall brand. Some brands work better than others. I take 3,000mg a day, but I had to start off with just 450mg twice a day due to feeling effects of die-off (it kills some pathogens). I love this stuff so much. It is incredible. I give it to my entire family, and it's currently the core herb to decrease everyone's symptoms. Pineapple has some great enzymes in it that are reported to be extremely healing. I used to drink it when I got colds, and it really worked. But now, I am going to start buying it again (forgot about it), because its a geat food/juice to add to one's diet, and I keep reading about its wonderful healing enzymes. Guest guest
Oh, there are plenty! Turmeric and pineaple are good, then there is cinnamon, ginger (raw preferably), primrose oil, cayenne pepper, cicrummin, olive oil, red grapes, garlic, onions, flax seeds and more Just be careful, for many of them are spices, i.e. highly acidic. I overdid it once and had heart burn for two days. Fast recovery to you Shea! > > Hi everyone, > > I am new here and glad I have found this group. Guest guest
Proteolytic enzymes such as papain, bromelain, serrapeptase, amylase, lipase, rutin, and amla are effective tools against inflammatory conditions. Nuclear factor-kappa B is a key modulator in inflammatory conditions and cancer, promoting inflammation and progression of the conditions. Proteolytic enzymes such as bromelain, etc. inactivate NF-kappaB, slowing progression of inflammatory conditions. For documentation and medical study references- see the Jan 2008 issue of Vitamin Research News, Vol 22, No. 1.    This weekly journal is available electronically for free from www.vrp.com VRPs enzyme product " Unizyme " is a very effective combination of all of these proteolytic enzymes. All with inflammatory conditions should be taking some type of proteolytic enzyme product.  While it is possible and good to use real foods and whole foods for nutrients, unless one has a diet like Alison's with mostly raw varied veges and fruits, it is very difficult to get enough of these proteolytic enzymes for those with chronic conditions without using a supplement.
