Guest guest
Hello, everyone, Lori here. Have been busy gathering more details for the retreat and would like to share them with you. fo the people that have asked for information on the retreat, I will address the Campgound first. There is a brand new Campground in Elkhart, very close to the Retreat Park. They do have cabins and they are $35.00 a nite. RV Camping with full hook ups are $20.00 a nite. I think that is very reasonable rate especially for a new Campground. There are 3 Motels I do recommend and these prices are at a group rate. I will go from the most expensive down to the least. I suggest one of these 3. Quality Inn, rate is $75.00 a nite. This includes 2 queen size beds, air-conditiong, coffee and ironing board in the rooms, continental breakfast, indoor pool and exercise room and jacizzi. I have seen this motel, it is new and it is beautiful. If there are at least 30 reservations I can get those rooms for $69.00. the 2nd one is the Red Roof Inn with a group rate of $61.99 a nite. It has air-conditioning, indoor pool, exercise room, contintental breakfast. It is either 2 double beds or 1 queen size bed. The third is called the Weston Inn. This is also a convention center. Their rate is $49.99 for 2 double beds or 1 queen size bed, a continental breakfast and cable tv. The Westono and the Quality Inn I can wait until May to make the reservations but the Red Roof Inn wants me to send them a list of names and for me to put a deposit down on it. I would rather not do that. If you would like to make a reservation at the Red Roof Inn, it would be better if you called there and made your own reservation. I do have a meeting next week with the mayor and a News reporter and hopefully they both will be of great assistance. I have already gotten many pledges from area businesses for door prizes, etc. And I still have a few surprises up my sleeve! I have a signed contract with the Photographer and the DJ. So all is going very well. I do need a couple of things from you. I know it is still early for most of you to know if you will be coming. I will be taking a head count in late December, Middle of March and Middle of May. However I would also like a list now of the people that are sure you are coming. I do know that nothing with this disease is every for sure, and certainly respect that. But if at this moment you are planning on coming, please send me your name so I may start a list going. If I can start getting some kind of idea of the number coming it will make it easier for me in acquiring more donations. I hope all of you are getting as excited about this as I am. Don't forget to send to , BJS592@... to turn in your name and City and State for the RSD Quilt. I am working dilligently on this folks to guarantee that we will have the best time of our lives and I am looking forward to all of you coming. If there are 7 million people in the US with this disease, let's try to reach as many as possible. Any lists or personal groups that you know of that might of not gotten any information about this Retreat, please inform them ASAP. People are asking me if there is anything they can do to help and the answer is Yes! You can go to your local K-Marts or Wal-marts or favorite Pharmacy or FTD Florists or anything that you believe is a nation wide chain and ask for a pledged donation, preferably a gift certificate. All of these large businesses have a certain amount of money that is allegated for donations. They have to have a certain amount given away in order to claim a tax deduction. I have not run into any opposition in my city. And Walmart and Kmart were the first to offer. Just walk in, ask for the manager, tell them about RSDS and the retreat and ask them for a donation for the month of July. Be sure to get the name of who you spoke to. Of course, any further questions, ask me, Lori at Testpeachy@... Thanks again and I will continue to keep you all informed as things progress. I hope this information has helped and God Bless All of You!! Love LORI
