Got through 2 weeks of induction ok, lost 6 pounds, but then houseguests arrived. Took them on 3-day trip to Florence and gained back 3 lbs (I read it was ok to have wine but discovered that more > Next weekend another 3-day trip to Venice with the houseguests, then a cocktail party for 60 at my home on Monday, plus three other parties to attend that week, followed by short business trip to Stuttgart. sigh Actually I handle the parties ok *LOL* Heidi, am I too forward to ask what it is that you do to go all these places???? Awesome! I don't think any of us on this list can identify with you as far as having to attend all the parties and your trips to other countries, but sampling and cheating are things we all do/have done. Just make the determination in your heart to stick to the plan, no matter what. Carry some low carb items with you to eat if you are getting hungry and eat BEFORE you go to these parties, if possible. Avoid the wine and ask for water with a slice of lemon instead. Just now I am trying to hold my goal of being a skinny person right in the front of my brain and realize that I am making a choice when I eat inappropriately. And I really want to be thin so I have to try and make the choice that gets me a small step closer to my goal. Otherwise have been cooking at home and fortunately guests are not nosy enough to ask why I'm having chicken marsala while they're indulging in lasagna. But it was hard this morning serving brunch with fruit, potatoes and pastries..
