Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Where did you listen to this about the LDN??? Always, Crystal Sharon Marsden wrote: I listened in by phone. It was interesting. They discussed the disease modifying drugs, LDN, heat and temperature effects on MS, vitamins/supplements and alternative treatments. I thought it was very informative and it gave me some things to think about. They said MSers shouldn't take Vitamin E or other anti-oxidants because it revs up the immune system when we should not do anything to "rev" it up. They said we should take Omega 3 Fish Oil, Vitamin D and Calcium. If you didn't hear it or participate online you can see the transcript now or may still be able to listen to the replay. Guest guest
First, make sure it’s meno. Have your blood sugar checked and a full-scale-check-for-everything fasting blood test. Diabetes flashes ruled out, then see your gyno. Next, have an MRI for fibroid tumors and endometriosis. – and thyroid (physician that I am-ha!) just speaking from experience. ~ doc cyd J I know that my menopause heat has been wrecking havoc with my MS. It not only keeps me at a higher temp, but has caused these dips in my moods, and I find myself feeling depressed more often now. Does anyone who has gone thru meno know if things get back to “normal” after you are done? I can’t imagine hot flashes or depression episodes the rest of my life. Its hard enough combating the depression from just being chronically ill without any added problems from out of control hormones! The part on temp was interesting. They said an increase in temperature of 0.1 was enough to show visible symptoms in MSers. They had done studies on eye movement in MSers and just that small increase was enough to cause a change in eye movement. Now they talked about any change in temp, including running a fever. So, as Challis pointed out to me, when women say they have more symptoms during 'that time of the month' --here's proof. I am assuming that the hot flashes of menopause are the same. I am experiencing those right now and man! do I get overheated. A friend of mine says " I don't have hot flashes--I have nuclear meltdowns " ! If any of you haven't listened to the Healthtalk I would like to encourage you to do so. It's very informative and isn't just about pushing folks into taking a CRAB T drug. There's a lot of great info! Sharon ..
