Guest guest
I recently (Christmas) started having gall bladder attacks. Didn't know what it was until the second one a month later. Saw a Dr, went in for a cat scan (grr expensive). Showed nothing. Immediately started liver, gall bladder support; peppermint oil, milk thistle, dandelion tea, lots of fruits and veggies (in spite of an all ready helathy diet). I have had NO other symptoms, but pain. Had another attack two weeks later, went on antibiotics and got pain meds (since there were no stones, Ha!) Had another attack a week later landing me in ER, yeah drugs!! Ultrasound found stones. That night did the ES, olive oil cleanse and got out 3-400 beebee to peas sized stones, because they wanted to schedule me for surgery. I just completed my second cleanse today and only got a few beebee sized stones and lots of chaff. Here are my questions...Hulda says keep cleansing till you get 2000. With mine so small, do you think I should continue? How do I count chaff? All green by the way. What actually causes the stones? If the bile is for fat purposes, why would excess fat be a problem? Is it better for the bile to flow with each meal (ensure fat with meal)? Or is it better to only have a little fat in the diet? Do types of fat make a difference? I only use olive oil, and butter in my diet. I do have packaged foods on occasion, but generally eat whole grains, low meat, and fruits and veggies. I am not perfect and do allow myself treats, but I do not fit the typical female type presenting with gall bladder. I am tall, barely overweight, noone I know would say I need to lose weight. Although, I have lost about 8 pounds since I am afraid to eat anything but fruits and veggies. When I have tested my gall bladder to see what happens--Taco Bell will bring on an attack. LOL! When do I consider myself better and what is the best way to eat and still enjoy life? Thanks and add anything I didn't cover. DM
Guest guest
DM, Once again, I'll tell you more about me and maybe some questions will be answered. It is good to keep eating and making your gb contract and send the bile down to the gastointestinal area for digestion. Once the gb is contracting, the bile and floating stones will move to the mouth of the gb as well to come out. If it is too big because it is cholesterol calcified (hard) it will stop at the mouth of the gb and not pass out into the 4mm duct. The gb will inflate as it is trying to push the bile out of the gb and colic pain will result until the gb relaxes and the stone(s) drop back out of the mouth and falls back out of the way. This is my case. I have eliminated over 2,000 stones with 7 cleanses of the softer, liver, cholesterol stones. Along with a lot of sludge, gunk, sandy little grainy pre-forming stones, etc. I still have a 1 cm calcified 'stubborn' stone that causes colic in the middle of the night if I have eaten a heavy or fatty late night meal. I have to continue to flush to get this one out and I feel then that my pain will definitely stop for good. Once it's out I can 'maintanance flush' twice a year because once a body has started to produce stones and cause colic, it may very well happen again. Please tell me what size and the number of stones that your ultrasound shows. As long as you have colic you should continue on the flushing program. Smaller stones this time doesn't mean you won't have big stones on the next one. Years of toxins and waste are moving forward out of your liver and gb on each flush. You can't count chaff or sludge. You can monitor the amount on each flush is all. Lots of sludge, medium sludge, etc. Types of fat intake definitely makes a difference. Cholesterol in bile stagnating is what can form stones. Any ingredient in bile that is in excess or missing in the bile can cause problems. Thinning the bile helps to stop stones forming. Olive oil is the best oil to use in foods and it's the only one I use. You can eat more than just fruits and veggies. Fish, chicken and even some red meats at times can be digested easy by my body. Avoiding all fun foods is not fun but your diet should be changed and monitored more now that you have a gb condition you want to improve on. Certain foods, I've learned, will 'trigger' a tighter feeling or pain in my gallbladder. I watch what I eat now while I am in this process of cleansing. I still eat maybe 10% instead of say 40% of the junk foods or 'fun' foods as before. It takes time to change your diet but your overall feeling of well-being will improve and you will like it more. French fries are about the worse thing for me to eat. Also, eating smaller meals say 5 times a day instead of 2 big meals helps my body digest food easier. More water in my diet helps, etc. Avoiding the very fatty meals at night (or the time when you experience the most pain) will help you live with the problem while you are in the process of eliminating the problem with a cleansing program that could last months. It's going to really have to be a lifestyle change in your diet in order for you to recondition your digestive system and keep the organs in your body. I hope this helps answer some more questions. There are a lot of people in here with the same experience as you and I'm sure they will be offering other suggestions and information as well. Also, http://www,curezone.com is packed with information and pictures about the gb and cleansing. Be Healthy, Barry. > I recently (Christmas) started having gall bladder attacks.
