Speech/Language/Communication: 10 II. Sociability: 17 III. Sensory/Cognitive Awareness: 16 IV. Health/Physical/Behavior: 35 Total ATEC Summary Score: 78 Autism is not the end of the World. . . . just the beginning of a new one. - Sally Meyer
Guest guest
Well, don't get depressed - - although I did initially too. ) But Madison started off at 99 at age 3, so..... Anyhow, it's a starting point. Who knows, 2 months ago could have tested 99 too, or higher, or perhaps lower. You have seen major improvements lately, and that brought you down to 83. Every couple/several months, you just go back and try it again. Your original score <83> is all you would compare to. I just redid my girls this afternoon also. Syd: I. Speech/Language/Communication: 20 II. Sociability: 6 III. Sensory/Cognitive Awareness: 11 IV. Health/Physical/Behavior: 15 Total ATEC Summary Score: 52 Madison: I. Speech/Language/Communication: 24 II. Sociability: 11 III. Sensory/Cognitive Awareness: 13 IV. Health/Physical/Behavior: 21 Total ATEC Summary Score: 69 So , even with my girls, who are definitely more autistic than sounds to be, the scores have gone from <based on tests in July, October, January and April>: Madison: 99-86-69-68 (obviously, not much improvement overall in the last 3 months, boo hoo - but this includes " severe " ratings for all diaper-related questions, which were marked as moderate before) Sydney: 57 - 53- 51- 52 (and although she HAS improved a lot, I rated her potty training issues as " Severe " since she is 4 years old now.) It's just a way of keeping track. No need to get depressed. Grace atec > I have no idea what this means. Her total score is 83. What am I comparing > this with? This doesn't look good. OK I'm depressed... well nothing new > there. > > G > > >
Guest guest
You compare it to her, . This initial score is now 's baseline. From here, you can return again and again to the ATEC to use it to evaluate how she's doing, where she's progressing, where she needs help, and what interventions are working! You'll see all the evidence you need looking at where the numbers do and don't change. BTW -- 's initial ATEC score, at 3.1 years, was 107. The last time we did it, it was 32.
