Guest guest
Donna, Sooo glad the infection is gone and things are progressing. Baby food! Wow! I bet you feel like you died and went to Heaven! Ok, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean. My infant son loved Gerber's Vanilla Custard -- try it for a snack. It's really good. Also the Stage 2/3 fruits like pears and peaches were good, too. Actually, you better stick to Stage 1' -- no lumps. I know, my son didn't know any better, but if you're stuck with strained stuff, it's pretty ok. I had a lot of jars left over after he started real table food and considered keeping it for my surgery, but of course nothing but gross stuff was left over -- green beans and rice mixed together, carrots and peas. Strained fruit is much tastier! Hang in there! You're moving along after a tough start. I'm so proud of you! Irish! > Went to the surgeon today. My fungal infection is gone. Guest guest
Donna, FYI. my kids lived on the baby food sweet potatoes. my youngest turned a lovely shade of orange for a while. Cheryl
Guest guest
Donna, I have parrots that I feed baby food almost every nite. Some of it IS downright tasty! " especially the deserts. yummy. Guest guest
Hey. Thanks for the post. Yes, slowly but surely things are improving. So glad you are biting correctly. I sure hope you get that splint removed. Luckily, I was blessed not to have a splint. I know what you mean about that burger....ohhh it sounds sooooo good right now!! You take care. Best of luck going back to work (ughh). Donna > > > Went to the surgeon today. My fungal infection is gone. Guest guest
How cute!! Yes, I LOVE baby food. The desserts are quite yummy, I agree. Donna > > Went to the surgeon today. Guest guest
Hey Cheryl. Those are good. I guess I wouldn't mind turning orange (ha). Wouldn't that just add to my lovely face as it appears now. Speaking of, I've got to get my husband this weekend to get my post op pics on the board. I'll let you all know when I do. (My favorite baby food is fruit medley). Any word on insurance Cheryl??? > Donna, > > FYI. my kids lived on the baby food sweet potatoes. my youngest > turned a lovely shade of orange for a while. > > Ch
Guest guest
Thanks Irish. And you are not exaggerating...I did feel like I was in heaven. It's the little things...... thanks for your support as always. Donna > > Went to the surgeon today. My fungal infection is gone. Guest guest
--- The surgeon gave me this rinse....Nystatin. I had to swish it around and swallow it. It was gross, but it worked in like 2 days and wow do I feel better. Thanks Randy. Sounds like you are doing pretty well yourself. Guest guest
Nada on the insurance, Donna, Thanks for asking. I'm so, so glad that you are recovering so quickly. My ortho told me that I *should* be ready for an August 15th surgical date. Now I'm waiting to hear from the oral surgeon if he'll schedule it. That would be a monumental step forward for me. I'm trying not to set myself up to be disappointed again, though. Can not wait for your pictures! Has the swelling started to go down enough where you can see anything yet? Guest guest
That's so funny Donna, I was just thinking to myself that I feel like I sort of know you guys now and how nice it would be to see some pictures! You must've read my mind... > > Donna, > > > > FYI. my kids lived on the baby food sweet potatoes. my youngest > > turned a lovely shade of orange for a while. > > > > Ch
Guest guest
Donna I just saw your pre-op pictures for the first time. I didn't know they were there until today. I try to look for people with a similar bite as me just to compare. My pre-op bite looked similar to yours, but I couldn't tell if you had an overbite or underbite. What surgery did you have done? I can't keep up with everyone, and I find it easier to just ask again. You can call me lazy! Marsha 1-- In orthognathicsurgerysupport@y..., dolfan11661 <no_reply@y...> wrote: > > > Hey Cheryl. Guest guest
Cheryl, no news is good news. August 15 hey, I'll keep that in mind. It'll be here before you know it. Now, that won't interfer with the kids' school schedule, etc??? The swelling has gone down a lot. I still have a lot right by the sides of my nose, above my upper lip and the lower jaw on both sides (kind of in the middle...maybe where he cut for the chin). I can definitely notice that my profile is different (and I am very happy with that) but from the front view, it's still a little hard to see what I'll look like. I went to the mall today and seriously I look like a battered wife getting over her injuries, so I can just imagine what people think. But who cares, I just think Thank God I am able to go to the mall and this is only temporary!! Donna > Nada on the insurance, Donna, > > Thanks for asking. Guest guest
The medication you were on probably contributed to the weight gain. Even things like tylenol, ibuprofen can give you what my leader calls a " false gain " . Guest guest
You know, 2.6 pounds isn't really a lot of weight. Sometimes I lose that much after a successful stint in the bathroom. You might be adding muscle, not drinking enough water, eating enough fiber. This is a true story...I got on the scales Saturday afternoon at my gym and weighed 179. Yesterday, same scale, I weighed 175. No way I could have lost 4 pounds that quick...just fluid and waste material, I guess. The scale doesn't tell the whole story. Keep with the program, notice how you are feeling, incorporate exercise if you can, and stick with this!!!! You KNOW it WORKS! > hi, > my weight in day is wednesday. on wednesday the 8, i weighted in with a > 2.6 gain for the holidays. Guest guest
Diane, It does work. But sometimes I get very very discouraged with me. I had been doing lots of exerciszing and drinking my water. My choirpractor wants me to drink 10-12 glasses a day. I'm trying. Now I won't weigh in again until 22. Hopeing to get back into the swing of things by Friday, two days after the silly tooth is pulled. Thanks again diane, dot Diane Loupe wrote: > You know, 2.6 pounds isn't really a lot of weight.
