Guest guest
There is a form of cysts/pimple called hydranitis superativa where hugh lumps develop in the sweat glands. There are two types of sweat glands (the liquid producers and the smell producers). The smell producers are usually involved in this disease. Sweat glands are not just in your armpit. They run all along your torso and groin. There is a good site (out of Canada) for this disease. (I dont have the site bookmarked on this computer). I've been plagued with the lumps (9 in my left armpit along, 1 under my L breast, 1 on my left abdomen, and 2 on my r armpit). Luckily, I've only had to have 5 drained by the dr/pac's in my hmo. Since changing to Lever 2000 antibacterial soap, I have had only 1 spot pop out (the first ones were in May & June; the last one the first part of Sept). You don't have to use the antibacterial soap everytime, because it inhibits the normal flora, but 2-3 times a week has helped me. They are extremely painful, within 2 days usually and get about the size of a nickel. I've had a few that weren't there when I put my deodorant on in the morning and by lunchtime they're the size of a large pin head and hurting already. THey usually put me on a antibiotic for 5 days when it abscesses, and it drains heavily for about 2 days. I have to take a Percoset to sleep when it does and I use a heat pack to help it drain more (a sinus bedbuddy is the right size with those buckwheat filling). HOpe this helps.
