Hi Zurama. I took a product for awhile called Sphingolin, myelin basic protein.

I don't think it helped, but it might have if I had stuck with it. I don't

think the autism and MS have the same physical damage for the same reasons, but

it might work better for you than it did for me. In my case of MS, the damage

is likely due to a lack of thyroid hormones T3 and T4.

Zurama,

there is a yahoogroup for parents using LDN to treat kids with autism.

The group is run by Dr. McCandles. Let me know if you need the link.

I took Sphingolin for a while as well and did not really see the

results. Just like , I might have given up too soon (about 2

months taking it)

However when I think about it I see it this way - Best Bet Diet (that

I am on) suggests against eating any food that will mimic protein

structure of myelin. Then Shingolin will be a definite no-no because

it has the closest structure?

I am thinking out loud here and not " perscribing " anything mind you.

Hi :

Thank you for responding! I am not so sure the two are not

similar-autoimmunity and heavy metal toxicity are involved in both as

far as I know. Poor Mickie is Lead, Cadmium and Aluminum toxic.

Mercury I haven't found but the signs are there.

Hope the Myelin can help him some.

No personal experience, but in Celeste Pepe's book on Reversing MS, she

says it was was of her steps and recommends it to people who are only

going to do one of her steps. She claims the immune system will attack

the Shingolin rather than the body's own myelin. I did a search on of

old posts in this group a while back and couldn't find anyone saying it

helped them--or maybe one person said so. But only a couple people had

tried it.
