Guest guest
Very interesting. I'm surprised to read that blue-green algae is suspect since it is in many superfood products. Many people claim that it's beneficial. This is another example that what may be good for some might be dangerous for others. I had Bell's Palsy at one time. Thanks for posting this. alrightguy123 wrote: While doing some `net searching regarding herxheimer in response to antibiotic therapy this section was found. --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Guest guest
There are bunches of fools and hucksters actively espousing silly things. I'm currently chasing a Lyme type diagnosis. I found a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) in a city and state several hours drive from my home and waited three months for the appointment. After having blood tests (that my local alternative doc signed for) from IgeneX, Fry Laboratories, gathering up all of my blood test reports, MRI reports, and writing a 5 page summary of all of my early conditions (my Excel journal was valuable for that) then I had the in-person appointment. The result of the appointment was that neither of the blood tests really said anything. He wrote a script for several blood tests including the Natural Killer Cell Function Cell assay by Focus Technologies in CA and a script for 100mg Doxycycline tablets. I started the tablets, twice per day, about a week ago. I started to puff up like a dead body! The antibiotics were cut back to once per day and I began the search for Herxheimer type things. The Lyme tests are posted in the Pics section of my MySpace profile. http://www.myspace.com/alrightguy123 While doing some `net searching regarding herxheimer in response > to antibiotic therapy this section was found. >
Guest guest
After the many things I've done such as (but not limited to), my left eye quitting on me, an MS diagnosis by a MD PhD MS clinical trial doc, Rebif, Copaxone, faith healer(s), a second MS diagnosis, 24 hour urine collection for mercury testing, DMPS challenge for metals, intravenous DMPS chelation, diet changes, scads of supplements, and I was (am) still sick and getting worse. I felt it was time to switch horses. I've had two peculiar symptoms that my physician(s) just don't respond to. 1) the Rebif made my walking measurably worse. I did a walking study on and off of the drug. The MD PhD said " I've never heard of that before, keep taking the Rebif " 2) When I drink something that has an extremely common sanitizing solution benzethonim chloride in it I can not urinate for 14 hours. (this stuff is even found in some bottled drinking water!). I've had three physicians that seem to flat out not care or respond to my request for help on that one. Regardless, enough whining. Based on a very complete medical history to a Lyme physician that is supposed to be top-notch, the antibiotics were prescribed for three months. Compared to everything else, it seemed like a small thing to try. As I sit here trapped in my house by whatever horrible sickness, I was hoping these responses to the antibiotics were some sort of herxheier reaction which would indicate that a batch of evil critters were dieing in me. Guest guest
Allergy tests are next on the block. My background from birth on is based on engineering and medical worlds. That mind set played a heavy part in the treatments I've taken so far. Fortunately, I also had some business experience and was able to cobble together some financial planning as I fell apart. At the same time the plan to test for Lyme testing was kicked off, a friend's wife, who works for a chiropractor, mentioned allergy tests. The chiropractor apparently does some good allergy tests. As the allergy tests were learned about, someone ran a stop sign and totaled my car! Between the bills related to the Lyme tests AND the bills regarding the wreck, the allergy tests have been temporarily postponed. When that project fires up I'll write you a letter so I can learn about the world of allergy testing. > After the many things I've done such as (but not limited to), my left > eye quitting on me, an MS diagnosis by a MD PhD MS clinical trial doc, > Rebif, Copaxone, faith healer(s), a second MS diagnosis, 24 hour urine > collection for mercury testing, DMPS challenge for metals, intravenous > DMPS chelation, diet changes, scads of supplements, and I was (am) > still sick and getting worse.
