Guest guest
There is spring water up on the mountain, and there is spring water down below. Fortunatly I live in the mountains. ...RP alrightguy123 wrote: > > Of course we need water. I suppose the best we can do is provide the cleanest water available. It seems that in a polluted World,..... Even in labs, manufacturing semiconductors or drugs, water cleanliness has an element of compromise. Nothing will be perfect and someone will always complain about something. My rant today is folks who thing " spring water " is some pure unadulterated nectar of the gods. Spring water is at best the same purity as the local streams and rivers. There is no magical filtering that occurs. I was in a deep cave in GA one time mapping passages miles from the entrance. I spent several hours, in my wetsuit, in an underground river. On leaving the cave about 24 hours after entering I took a bath in the spring where the water exited the cave. A group of people, carrying water bottles, approached the spring as I was leaving. They were all excited about getting their " ultrapure water of the gods " . I couldn't bring myself to tell them that the spring pool had just been my bath tub. This also neglects the time I was in the cave, the quarry in the neighborhood, and the farm animals that also share the drainage basin. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
