He is very intense from the moment he wakes up until very late at night. He is always " doing " something, and asks incredibly thought provoking questions. He gets very into his own agenda and that makes transitions difficult sometimes. He does everything " large " and leaves chaos in his wake as he moves through his day. He's wonderful and funny and creative, but also unpredictable and stubborn and self-absorbed. It wears me out, being his Mom, because at 10 he still needs a lot of supervision. The HOH component adds to the stress because communication is just that much more difficult that it adds even more of a challenge to the parenting. Some days my voice is gone by evening. And when my husband finally arrives home at 7:00 pm I'm usually quite frazzled. So, , I'd be grateful for some advice too! My husband thinks we should get an ADHD diagnosis and try Ritalin, but I still haven't been able to feel comfortable with that approach.
