Hi Everyone:

Well, I went back to the gyno who did the burning off of the HPV in 1998,

since I've been with her since 1987.

I had my consult first:

She was very up to date on the Estrace, Testosterone, Xlyocane and Diflucan

I'll just tell you what she said so you can either learn something from it or

educate me. LOL.

Theory WAS to burn off HPV, theory NOW is to leave alone unless patient comes

in and really complains. Laser is OUT and horrible. The treatment for HPV has

been learned that it DOES cause VV and a lot of problems sexually. The more

in the pain, the more you wait, the more your response would be to tighten

up. So far I don't have that as the exam was painless.

I explained my acid like pain on the clitoris pain all the time, never lets

up and the painful lip area. This is where I was burnt off. I also went today

because I could have sworn I had a bladder infection. (She doesn't think I

do) For several nights I've been up peeing and in burning pain. Then I

mentioned my ovaries hurting (they were fine, this was caused by my lower

back pain)and my strange period for Feb. Could this be caused by the one time

of using Estrace. (I had two periods in Feb.) She said no.

She thought the pain on the clitoris could be the HPV coming back. Or if the

acid did in fact burn away some layers then the Estrace/Test. and Xlyocane

will help.

Upon exam:

I had an area near the anus that itched and stung. I thought maybe HPV. She

took one look and said it was yeast. I don't have the yeast that is cottage

cheese. No discharge. I look normal. I got the strain from my ex boyfriend

who loaded me with yeast infections (cottage cheese ones, the worst I ever

had) and UTI's. It's been a year away from him and I though I was clear. She

took cultures. Said she didn't want to test me for HPV as it would hurt me

too much. We were just going to test to see if that was the cause of pain NOT

TO BURN ANYTHING OFF. I did have two positive HPV biopsies in the past. She

feels for me, all this is related to having CFS, FM and IC

Treatment:

Estrace (SHE says 1/2 applicator full vaginally every night) She gave me 11

refills.

I have a question? Doesn't Estrace cause yeast?

Is this safe cancer wise?

She feels this will soothe my IC symptoms/bladder pain as well as the lip

area and grow back needed layers, but it was burnt outside not inside so I'm

confused and didn't we all say just outside seemed to help NOT inside. Input?

DO I USE IT TYPICALLY ONLY? We know that our experience is better than the

gyno so that's why I ask. What is better? It seems I keep reading outside

only.

She gave me compounded Testosterone to be used 3 to 4 times a week

Xlyocaine to be used for extreme pain and it only lasts an hour. Don't use

during sex as guy will have a numb penis, if you do, use very little.

Valisone (steroid) to toughen up the skin as well. LOL, I'll have leather skin

Okay now whoever asked about testosterone and hair growing? She said you have

to use a very little bit or you will grow hair on face, lower voice etc.

Because it feels good, it works and gives you back your sex drive women tend

to put too much on so go easy and back off a bit if you are growing hair.

I didn't get the Estrace compounded. Who on here feels compounded made that

much of a difference?

For the yeast she gave me Diflucan which years ago gave me heart symptoms. So

I'll see. I'm to take one 100mg pill for 5 days, then the 150mg pill once a

week for a month and then one pill every month after that. Not sure how many

months of that since it's not written on the label. BUT by then I'll know if

it's too much Diflucan.

I'd love input on the Diflucan and if anyone else would take this much for so

long.

After all this if the pain is still there, I'm to return and we'll check for

HPV just to see if that is what is causing the pain. She feels all this will

help it a lot, but obviously not 100%.

Okay, I'd love to hear from everyone as I'm confused, <g> but overall feel a

lot better.

The only thing she did say that was a knee jerk reaction was how one patient

had HPV lasered and couldn't have sex for a year. She couldn't understand not

wanting to have sex. I wanted to laser her. LOL. She also is sending me to

the best PT here who helped the woman resume sex and she's fine now.

Love, Lainey
