If you have high mercury levels you are likely to have lots of problems until

you get the level reduced, but you also need to be careful not to try to reduce

the level faster than the body can deal with.    Detox such as Bio Cleanse or

Ion Cleanse foot baths (with ionizer) usually do not cause any adverse effect,

or very little.   Carefully done sauna usually doesn't cause problem as long

as you can sweat and you replace water and minerals. Sitting in a car with

windows up in the sun is a cheap way to do sauna.   Some of the oral chelators

like NDF or NCD or Pectasol CF usually don't cause much problems, but starting

low and working up to see how it affects you is advised.   NAC or lipoic acid

aid chelation, but can cause increased blood cysteine levels if you sulfur

processing enzymatic processes are blocked, which is common.  High cysteine

levels can cause adverse neurological effects. Mercury toxicity depletes

magnesium and zinc so extra of these is usually needed.    Mercury is highly

neurotoxic and commonly causes immune reactivity and related effects and blocks

most metabolic processes, so its a factor in many chronic conditions, which is

why most who reduce mercury exposures and do a safe detox protocol improve their

condition.  But other toxic metal exposures are common as well and can have

similar effects.   However many detox protocols reduce most toxic metal

levels, though some are better than others depending on the metal.
