Guest guest
Hi Jane, Thanks for the info. If you have any more would be greatly appreciated. What kind of doctor did you see? was it removed.? What was the outcome. Did your double vision come and go or was it constant. Please tell me everything about it. Guest guest
Hello I too have Double vision, mine is caused because my left eye has shifted due to optical-motor paralysis. Basically I can only look straight ahead and to the right in that eye. It's normal resting posiition is to the far right so it's out of sync with my good eye. This was caused by my Left Acoustic Neuroma growing so much that it pressed on the (8th??) nerve and damaged it. I've since had surgery to try to reposition the other optical motor muscles to compensate for the paralysis but it was unsuccessful. Right now the Double vision is nothing more than mildly annoying, I mentally block it out most of the time and have a pair of prism glasses (ewwww!) for when it gets really bad (usually when I'm tired) Pete

Guest guest
YES! Hi I am Jane . I am now almost 48 years old. When I was 17 years old I woke up on Christmas morning (1969) with double vision. My rigth eye would not turn to the right. After many tests in those prehistoric times I was found to have a tumor on my eye nerve (can remember the nerve number). Backed then the tumor was termed meningeoma. It was large. I just pulled my file and re-read it. Please look into your double vision problem. Guest guest
Anita Yes Double vision here!!! I think I have had it all of my life. When I started school was when I NOTICED IT. When 1 was 1 to everyone else it was 2 for me!!!!!! I lived in a small Hamlet no Doc.'s Hospitals was something I had never heard of!!!! (Oh I wish it were still true) I had a heck of a time learning to read as I always had 2 of everything and it ran over top of each other.I discovered one day by accident if I put a clear piece of paper under the line I was trying to read then POOF!!!!!!! only one set of letters. Sure made life a lot easier for me!!! At the age of 8, I was taken to a big city Lethbrige, Alberta. There I saw an eye doctor and he told my mother there was nothing wrong with my eyes I was just at the age where every kid wants glasses!!!!!! (is this a joke or what?) I know I have tumors there!! As I have had operation after operation to bring them in line. They just keep going back as the tumors do exactly what they want to do!!!!!! I have so many in my skull that they don't know where to begin so have just decided to leave them until they reach the point that they are life threatening!!! I have compensated very well with my double vision. As time goes by you learn to block out one eye. At this point in life the one eye I have been using for a loooooooong time is being threatened by blindness. (I am 49) I am just playing it by ear now. (pardon the pun) I will be seeing my eye Doc tomorrow morning and I hope a miracle comes up!!!!!!!!
