Andy - question re essential minerals and chelation

- I am a tad confused. Is it true that the chelation process tends to also

cause problems with absorption (or is it excretion? of )essential minerals

as well and the toxic stuff?. I seem to remember Andy saying that this was

not true but I also hear people mentioning that Dr Amy and others have

suggested this on other posts. I am confused because many of my 5 year old

sons blood essential elements , particularly zinc were very low pre

chelation. We went ahead anyway because its seems clear that he has an

absorption issue that was not resolving even after 18 months of GFCF and

being well supplemented - I didn't see that we had any other choice but to

chelate to deal with the underlying issues. I am awaiting another test

result after round 7 of DMSA however clinically speaking he is doing so much

better and his general endurance has signficantly improved. No significant

side effects noted.I will be very suprised if his blood minerals look worse.

I suspect he is absorbing nutrients better already.

- We haven't started ALA yet - is this more of a problem then?. We have

decided to do it 3 days out of 7 now. We are doing 4 hourly and low dosage -

the way to go I think Andy is spot on.

- When we add ALA should we go back to every second weekend? - Is anyone

doing both DMSA and ALA every weekend?

Kathy
