Guest guest
I've taken colustrum and it had no effects, positive or negative. The product was recommended by a friend of my mother's who is some sort of official nutritionist - herb expert. Early in my sickness I found that Metagenics Intrinsi B12 / folate was helpful. When I took the stuff daily, then 3 days into the cycle my walking improved considerably. Then a couple of days after that the positive effect would wane. I used this regime a couple of times prior to picnics or even a date to the state fair so I'd be able to walk at the event. > > Have any of you here tried bovine colostrum ( the first milk after a calf is born that contains many immunities and nutrition)? Guest guest
I have used Colostrum for years and love it. It is the one product I will not be without. I am now starting to learn more about it and going to try Transfer Factor. I think the immune system needs all the help it can get these days and a well balanced one can do amazing things. Guest guest
Capsules. This was something I tired directly after getting sick. I tend to think most supplements aren't worth the time, money , or hope. I do think that some of the minerals might be of use as our farm fields have been farmed for so long. Out of all of the supplements I've tried ( and it's been a lot!) I've found oleurpein had positive effects on getting my bowels under control Vitamin B12/folate: improved walking for a few days. 5-HTP, a seretonin precursor, made me aggressive. Makes me wonder about all of these school shootings Doxycycline: I think this stuff is going to pull me out of the toilet > > Thanks for your input. Did you take it in liquid or capsule form? Guest guest
The advantage of Colostrum is to nourish or rebuild the gut. If that is the goal, I'm not sure about green tea. .....RP Desinie wrote: Green tea is ok though, right? I do already take probiotics. Guest guest
I did some research on Lactoferrin, which led me to sites re: colostrum. It sounds good. I'm thinking of trying it. The site below gives alot of information/education w/resources. According to them, the liquid is best when you have a " bad " situation (like ours). http://sunvalleycolostrum.com/index.htm Beverly --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Desinie, If they are high quality the you should have good results. For me it was infection control and so that was obvious that the product worked as I had no more infections. The product I use also has some other ingredients and so it was an oral chelator also. I have just today started a new product that is colostrum based but is the transfer factor, will see if I notice any difference. Desinie wrote: > > Thanks so much, . Guest guest
Hi Beverly, The colostrum I take has lactoferin, beta glucan and citrus pectin which is beneficial for removing metals. Guest guest
Hi Beverly, I have in the past used Mannatechs products and now 4-Life's transfer factor. I learned about the 4-life company by my veterinary as we had used some of their products on my horses with great success. I will see if I like it better then the one I have taken for years, I guess there is always room for improvement. Beverly wrote: > > -what brand of colostrum do you take? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi , the items I mentioned tend to cause inflammation in the gut, negating the advantages that you're looking for in the colostrum. This info is from my Naturalpathic doctors. One of the best is Dr Leo Galand enterologist, on line also. If one does a little coffee in the morning as I do, take the colostrum in the evening. If you have zero food intolerances you probably don't need colostrum. ...RP " Kindscher (Charter) " wrote: Hi Rich, Can you please elaborate on this?? Guest guest
Hi Rich, That is like saying Tylenol is not good for a headache. I believe most people are not going to change their diet completely. SOme will make some effort but its very hard and expensive to really eat well these days. If any supplement can help negate the effects of some of the diet I think its good. I personally did not change my diet for the first 2 years of taking a high quality supplement program. I still had huge benefits. My husband still has horrible diet and is very healthy, no visits to hospital in the last 4 years. So even t hough some will say its a waste of money to supplement while eating bad, I don't believe that. IF a person would rather get their nutrition out of a bottle then better that way then not at all. rich perillo wrote: > > Hi , the items I mentioned tend to cause inflammation in the gut, > negating the advantages that you're looking for in the colostrum. Guest guest
Thats fine as long as you understand I personally work really hard at eating good, clean foods. However the majority of people I know do not and need all the help they can get breaking even. Heck its no different then most people with jobs these days, they are never really getting ahead just breaking even. JOB= Just Over Broke, seems to be a philosophy of modern living. rich perillo wrote: > > ,most of the time we agree. I stand by what I said. ...RP > > . Guest guest
You know that I disagree. This is the medicasl mentality of eat poorly, fix everything with a pill. Guest guest
, I think that what happens for those that spend too much time in these forums is a lack of reality. Many, many people feel that they are doing the best they can and cooking healthy foods for their families. They don't know any other way and you certainly cannot expect people to change over night. I think any move toward health is a good one. Lets face it the majority of people have been brain washed their whole lives with this " medical mentality " and so I get happy when they agree to just take some whole food supplements instead of toxic meds. It is not the best but certainly much safer and a step in the right direction. If my husband did not open his mouth and swallow 2x day, every day he would absolutely be dead. He may be stupid, and stubborn but he is alive and I am very happy about that. Pugh wrote: > > You know that I disagree.
