HI All

Ive heard a legend that there is a bar near a mjor rehab like Hazelden where

they will trade in an AA chip for a drink. I dont know if it's my

imagination, but I think someone said that they tack all the new ones to the

wall.

A 1-day one wouldnt get you anything I expect. I have thought of writing a

screenplay abt the addiction controversies, and it would feature that bar.

You get more and better drinks the older the chip. I wouldnt portray it as

a good thing or a bad thing necessarily, just as a feature of modern life.

The central character would enter the bar. He offers the barman the chip. The

barman remembers him from years

back, and he says he's always wanted the hero's chip, and for it he can have

any drink in the place.

The guy orders a McCoy's or something, and the barman pours it while the

hero looks at the chip, turning it over in his hand. [Close Up on

Inscriptions on either side].

He hands it over to the barman, who proceeds to nail it pride of place over

the top of the bar. As the hero watches the nail go in, he looks at the

drink, and asks for the chip back.

[usual tectchy banter as takes place in such dramatic encounters].

Barman: " Ok, you can have your chip back, but you can pay for that drink. "

Hero: " Sure. " [Passes over note.] " Keep the change. "

The Barman pulls out the nail and hands the chip back. The hero feels the

hole passing thru the triangle in the circle, and looks at the light thru it

pensively. The Barman starts to take the drink away.

Hero: " Hey, where are you going with that? "

Barman: " You said you didnt want it. "

Hero: " I said I wanted my chip back. I paid for that drink. "

Barman hands over drink. Hero drinks the drink slowly. After he finishes the

barman brings the bottle for a top-up.

Hero: " No thanks Jack. I justed wanted to let it know who had the power

around here. "
