Guest guest
I got some of my test results back today. My doctor, said to, keep doing what I've been doing! In hematology, I had average results, mid to low on the reference range with the exception of BA# (1. high) and LY# (.2 low). I don't remember what those initials stand for, but they weren't odd enough for either my doctor or myself to worry about. I averaged in the chemistry area of the tests. He said that my cholesterol and triglycerides were great. In the special chemistry test, for thyroid issues, I scored .74 on free T4 (ref. .59-1.17), TSH 1.47 (ref. .34-4.82). T3 1.34 (ref. .7-1.9). He asked why I thought that I had hypothyroidism and I gave him a list of symptoms that I had. He said that he would have considered hypo-T as well, but what have I done to correct the problem. I told him that I eat seaweed and take Modifilan. I think that I was iodine deficient. I'm not now! My blood pH is 7.446. Normal. Everything else on the Blood Gas list fell within reference range, including the oxygen level of my blood. My sed rate is 5mm/hr, ref. 0-20. According to this, I don't have any internal inflammation. I'm still waiting to see if any antibodies show up for lyme or other infections, but according to the doctor, I would be exhibiting ongoing symptoms if this were likely. I'm also waiting for mercury, CRP, Thiamine, Folate, B-12 and Vit. D 25 hydroxy results. I felt a relief to have this testing done. I don't have to spend my time concentrating on these things now and I can invest my time and energy on PT. We had a conference with the physical therapist (their offices are next door to each other) and we all think that my immobility is a residual effect of having MS and that I can repair with proper training. I sure hope that we're right. It feels good to have professionals helping and not prescribing medications.
