Guest guest
Nina, I had my myo on 12/7. When I went back for my 2 week checkup, the nurse and doctor was very surprised to see how flat my stomach was. I don't have the small pouch that I had before. I had a bikini incision and right by it is a very small roll. It's a little tender, the doctor said that it will be gone completely within a month. It's not really that noticable. I didn't have to take any kind of medicine before the operation for the swelling. However, I was on Lupron but that shouldn't have any effect on the swelling. I am not sure if this answered your question or not. > I just need to talk to some one who will understand and I know that you all > would. > > Until this morning I was quite sure that myo. is the option for me. Guest guest
Nina, I had a myo 3 1/2 weeks ago. I have not experienced any bloating. My stomach is considerably flatter. I also have a little " roll " around my incision area that is clearly just swelling and is going away gradually. The scar looks like it will be hardly noticable after all the hair grows back. I was instructed to take no medication prior to surgery. Taking an antiflammatory, such as advil or asprin, prior to surgery could thin your blood and cause you to bleed more. I stopped all such medications 2 weeks prior.(also be wary of herbs). I don't know about antibiotics, but I was given them via IV post myo. hope that helps, Carol Please help! > I just need to talk to some one who will understand and I know that you all > would. > > Until this morning I was quite sure that myo. is the option for me. Guest guest
Nina, My myo was performed by a surgeon who was located in another state. I met with him only once prior to the surgery and actually have not seen him since I came home from the hospital! (My husband, who is also a surgeon, is doing all my post-op care because of the distance.) In a perfect world I would say you should have a long lasting relationship with your physician. However, this doctor was highly recommended to me by someone I trust and respect. I liked him very much during our meeting and was so relieved to find someone who was willing to consider anything other than a hysterectomy. In my mind it was very clear cut. I knew what I wanted and was comfortable with the surgeon recommended to me. My desire to end this nightmare outweighed any awkwardness at having not met him before. It sounds like the physician you are considering is skilled and respected. I would not cancel the myo simply because you do not " know " him better. Best regards, Debi TOJANINKA@... wrote: > I just need to talk to some one who will understand and I know that > you all > would. > > Until this morning I was quite sure that myo. is the option for me.
