Guest guest
Queen , Couldn't resist. Thanks for the links. I will check them out after this writing. Sometimes I feel as though most Dr's don't really care about their patients and care more about moving on to the next examining room to get the next patient in within 10 minutes. Makes me feel as though we are on an assembly line. I did have a wonderful GP years ago but the waiting time got too rediculous. How does 4 hours sound? How would you like to sit there for 4 hours and then another hour in the exam room. My time is just as valuable as his. If not more. Sometimes I think the Dr's are unaware of the appointment schedules and the people in charge of scheduling these appointments are @#$%^ & *@!!!!!! How could they schedule 10 - 12 people in an hour and expect each one to get the (5 to 6 minutes) attention and care they are there for? Don't get me started. I look forward to checking out the links you sent me. Somehow I feel a little more hopeful for the bone and connective tissue regeneration. It's like some weight has been lifted. Thank God, My shoulders can't take much more weight. The ?Replacements? questions have been more than answered. I appreicate everyone's input. These were nagging at me but now I have found some serious reasons why it's not as easy as I originally thought. My eyes are definitely opened. I do have a question or 2. Are bone spurs common with RA? So far mine are in my right knee, left clavical and cervical spine. When someone has RA, does it effect both sides at the same time or does one side get it first then the other. ie: my left foot hurts in the ball and across the width, should I expect the same to happen with my right? and how soon? Same ??? goes for all the other joints. My left shoulder MRI results read: " The articular cartilage appears slightly heterogeneous in signal characteristics suggesting mild chondromalacia. Additionally, on the axial images, there is a small 1-2 mm area of hyperintense signal seen within the an terior glenoid fossa which may represent a small area of advanced chondromalacia, possibly a subtle osteochondral defect. " I've tried looking up the underlined terms and have been unsuccessful. If anyone understands or has some knowledge of this PLEASE let me know. All I know is that there is nothing mild or subtle about the pain. I've had the worst flare in years this entire weekend. It took me 4 hours to come to myself before I could even get dressed on Saturday. Sunday was a little better. Today was somewhere in between. The only thing I can take safely is tylenol. Tell me how effective is that???? Never mind I already know. Hope you had a pleasant holiday weekend! Sylvia
Guest guest
Hi Sylvia: I cannot answer most of your questions but I can say that with my onset of RA, it became quite symmetical pretty fast. It hurt more on one side than the other at first like one knee was worse than the other and at the same time, both wrists hurt equally. I know nothing about spurs however. Sounds like you need to be on a DMARD asap and a good pain medication. I would call the RD asap and get in there. There is no reason why you must suffer as you are. I was absolutely miserable too in the beginning. Prednisone would help you right now but that is a mean drug long term. I can attest to that. I have been on it since 1997 and I am trying to taper off now. Short term can be helpful though. Also, I wanted to mention, you also have a very pretty name. My cousin's name is Sylvia and she hates it. She is a nurse and goes by her middle name at work. Why??????? The name Sylvia reminds me of silver. Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon. Guest guest
Sylvia, Speaking as one of those people that used to schedule the doctors appointments - you don't have any say so in how they want to schedule. They tell you how often they want to see patients, and they're the boss. So, it's not the receptionists fault. I know that I always felt just as bad as the patient when I saw them waiting. It used to infuriate me. But heaven forbid the receptionist that tries to tell the doctor how to schedule his patients. ARGH! And it's the poor receptionist that gets yelled at and called names. No one ever speaks to the doctor like that, and he's the one making the rules. *Sigh* Jenna FREE SPIRIT - Starlight Writers Publications THE GUARDIANS OF GLEDE - SWP Editors Choice Award; SWP Stellar Award; WordWeaving Award of Excellance THE GREEN PUMPKIN - CrossroadsPub.com; furt Award Nominee Homepage: www.geocities.com/jennakayfrancis ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Guest guest
I've been doing some research about fasting and gallbladder/liver cleansing and I thought that perhaps someone else might be interested in the sites I've come across. in health, rachel~ fasting after breakfast the day before the cleanse <A HREF= " http://www.besthealth.com.au/gallbladdercleanse.htm " >http://www.besthealth\ ..com.au/gallbladdercleanse.htm</A> 1-2 days of juice fasting <A HREF= " http://www.relfe.com/gall_stone_cleanse.html " >http://www.relfe.com/gall_st\ one_cleanse.html</A> <A HREF= " http://www.sensiblehealth.com/gallbladder.html " >http://www.sensiblehealth.\ com/gallbladder.html</A> (note - this site suggests that apple juice itself helps to clear out stagnant bile.
