For those of you with children that have learning

disability's--I was wondering what are some possible

signs of a learning disability and how hard are they

to diagnose??

My 4 yr old daughter will be entering kindergarten at

the end of Aug. and she cant/wont tell me her ABC's or

her numbers. She can tell me our address and phone

number, what state we live in but she cant/wont tell

me her age. Its really frustrating me and I dont know

how to tell if there is an actual problem or if she is

maybe acting out?? Any suggestions, thoughts, etc

would be appreciated. She is not hearing impaired,

only her older brother is. Thanks.

Hi ,

I also had concerns about what I called " holes " in 's development.

had a period with no oxygen at birth, reeeeally low apgar scores, and a

brain bleed, then his hearing loss so I was pretty paranoid. I also didn't

know if his problems were just because he was a toddler or if he really had

a problem. A thorough (and well given) evaluation really eased my mind at

least for the time being. I think he did the Bayley eval. For your peace of

mind though, I think it's really important to feel like the evaluation was

given by someone who knew what they were doing.

Good luck.
