Guest guest
Hi tks - I have a friend who has a bicornuate uterus also. She is currently pregnant and due in early December. Her pregnancy has been uneventful thus far. So, it can happen for you. Keep the faith! Guest guest
Welcome TKS! Another success story: I have been diagnosed through ultrasound with a bicornuate, although it's possible mine is septate, not BU. My first pregnancy was at age 34. I had a healthy baby at 39 weeks. He was small but healthy and has been developmentally normal. Hang in there! Kim R. Guest guest
Hello, and welcome to the group! I was just curious why your doctor would say you have a HIGH risk of miscarriage? Is that based strictly on the fact of a bicornuate uterus? I am asking because I found the opposite with my doctors...they all kept telling me that everything would be fine (I am 34 weeks pg with UD and have had 4 different doctors). I actually expected to be treated as a " high risk " pregnancy, but was not. I find it weird that he would alarm you like that. From what I have experienced so far myself, all I can say is that it IS possible to have a relatively " normal " pregnancy with a uterine anomaly. Obviously, it isn't ALWAYS that way for EVERYONE, it depends on each individual, we each have our own variances. But just remember, it IS possible! Think positive, it can only help you. I have seen enough success stories with all types of anomalies to encourage me through my own pregnancy...I hope that they help you too. Good luck and keep us posted! Guest guest
I'm also pregnant for the first time and have a BU. I was told that I had a BU when I had an u/s at 6 weeks. I've been very lucky and it's been uneventful and 'normal'. I'm 34 weeks and due 12/04/01. Good luck to you, it's possible for all to go well. Sandi 12/04/01 BU <<<Hi there and welcome to this site. I don't post hear often, I'm mainly a lurker, but I know that each story of a success helps you down the road. I'm currently 26+ weeks pregnant with my first child, and I have a BU as well. I was told that I had a high chance of miscarriage and as well as a preterm baby. I am currently on bedrest because I started dilating and having contractions at 25 weeks, but they've stopped now. There are ladies on this board who have carried full term with a BU, so don't ever give hope! >>>
Guest guest
I really like to hear people who are encouraging, I am still chugging along with my twins and feeling good about everything, the oily skin and nausea are unbelivable! I dont remeber that with my son but with the twins I suspect I will get twice the fun. Headaches are coming more often but with twins the increase in bloodflow is up tp 90%. I have a doctors appointment on the 1st of november and cant wait to see the little ones on the ultra sound again, I hope they may be able to tell me what the sexes are. Well good luck to everyone and to myself. --- kelly neal wrote: > Hello, and welcome to the group! > > I was just curious why your doctor would say you > have > a HIGH risk of miscarriage? On a positive note, I saw my reproductive endocrinologist on thursday (horribly upsetting and depressing appt) and I mentioned that I " knew " someone with a BU and expecting twins and she said that her dept had seen that before with perfectly normal results :-) Had to pass that along! Glad to hear you and the little ones are doing well! I can't wait to see the new US!

Guest guest
Did your doctor categorize you as " high risk " only because of the your BU, I was not considered " high risk " because of my UD, i was considered " high risk " because of a low lying placenta and bleeding throughout my early pregnancy. Maybe if your doctor is not used to patients with the " unique " equipment that we have, he/she would be a little extra careful. Dont let it bother you, women like us have uneventful and uncomplicated full term babies every day. good luck Lorayne (UD, with 3 boys all delivered at full term)

Guest guest
Hi There, I have a bicornuate uterus and I am currently typing this note with one hand while holding my very healthy 6-week old daughter who was delivered via a scheduled c-section at 38.5 weeks. I recommend good prenatal care with a high-risk pregnancy specialist, a positive attitude, and getting lots of rest and drinking lots of water. Best of luck to you!
