Guest guest
My HOH child was not taking to potty training like my son had. When she was 3.5 and the only child in her preschool class in diapers I felt a bit of pressure to get the potty training thing accomplished. I found a book at the library called " Potty Training Your Child In One Day " . Can't recall the author. I know it sounds ludicrous, but I followed the book exactly and it worked. We started the day she was out for spring break and by the time she went back to school one week later she was completely trained...no accidents or bedwetting. The method described in the book uses role playing with a wetting doll (which my daughter LOVED) and plying her with salty snacks and lots of her favorite drinks. It also required that you do nothing else, e.g. don't answer the phones, send the other kids and the spouse out of the house, etc. You have to focus that child and the task at hand all day--which can be a challenge. But it did work for us. Don't know if the book is still around at libraries; this has been 7 years ago. Good luck!
