Hi ,

I know I can't take elavil. It not only swelled my feet, I swelled up

everywhere!

I couldn't fit in any of my clothes. How long have you been taking elavil?

Did the swelling come gradually or just kinda pooff, and there it was?

I am scared to take any medication in that classifacation, I never felt so

miserable, I couldn't bend my ankels, knees, wrist, elbows, fingers, toes,

anywhere you would normally take for granted that moves, was restricted.

You may ask your doctor to go off of it for a while and see if the swelling

goes down on its own. Mydoctor didn't give me water pills and advised not to

take any over the counter. The only way to know for sure if its the

medication is stop, but ask your doctor, how to wean off. I myself quit cold

turkey, I knew that this was the only change in my life at the time, was

starting elavil. It was the medication for me, but everyone has reactions

different to others on same medication.
