Guest guest
I am looking for any input..I am very concerned. My daughter Hayley has become severely hyponatremic since the start of the diet. Her doctor has put her on salt tabs to help elevate her levels. She is now on 6 grams of salt a day (normal adult intake should be less than 500 mg.!). Her sodium levels have come up a bit but are still not normal. We salt her food, she drinks diet pop with salt in it too. Her doctor said the Hospital has seen this before and they are not sure why it happens. I am very concerned because now she is incontinent of urine every night and sometimes during the day which is a new thing. Her doctor said this is probably because of all the salt we are having to give her. I am very worried about what this is doing to her kidneys. Has anyone out there ever had this problem before? I know I have asked this before and I recieved one response however was not as severe. I am extremely worried that I am going to ruin her kidneys or something. If anyone has dealt with this before and has any input it would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Sue K...worrired mom to Hayley 7 yrs. and doing absolutely awesome neurologically on the keto diet..we are so proud of her, I feel like I have my little girl back.
