Oh my...I certainly can relate to this. During the year 2000, I had

over a dozen visits to Duke University Medical Center. I p**d my

way through the Emergency Room <g>!

Dopey me......at the time, I had no idea there was any connection

between Afib and frequent urination. Strange, that not one doctor,

nurse, or what have you, mentioned this connection. I wouldn't be a

bit surprised if they were as dopey as me!!

I asked my cardiologist about frequent urination while in AFIB. (I

thought my system was eliminating whatever food was causing the

afibs). He told me that the heart somehow directly affects the kidneys

and that afibs cause the kidneys to unload frequently.

It's to do with ANP - Atrial Naturietic (sp?) Peptide

It's a hormonal chemical produced by the heart to reduce blood volume

when in Fib, iirc, which it does by reducing the water content (via the

kidneys, no doubt)

Someone posted a good web link a while ago, but I'm sure Google can

help.

We have a great website in our Bookmarks section explaining frequent

urination, or as we refer to it, *The BIG P*. Click below; then

click on the first topic, " Basic Information*; then scroll all the

way down to the bottom and you will see *The BIG P*.

BTW, there's also lots of other information in there. It's worth a

few minutes to check 'em out!
