Guest guest
Marie, Sorry for getting back to you a bit late on this. I think it would be interesting to see what any doctor has to say about the questions (even the gang HEI). Why do you say not the GK guys?? Do you feel it's a good idea to submit the questions to Petito? If so, perhaps we can ask to forward the questions to a center which does various types of RS. I would suggest we don't get a gamma knife surgeon to answer these? I am thinking that the treatments I have seen for the spinal area area fractionated radiotherapy. Marie FW: NF2 Pill G/K FSR? > > >Hi and Crew, > >I'll try and do my best to come up with answers to the questions during my visit to Pittsburgh in mid-April. Maybe others seeing their doctors and ask the questions too. It would be interesting to see how various neurosurgeons answer these questions so I would encourage anyone who feels comfortable asking their doctor these questions to do so. We can get pro-radiosurgery and anti-radiosurgery views. The truth will likely be in a middle ground somewhere. > >Perhaps it would also be a good idea to submit the questions to Petito (NF2 Review editor). has lots of connections and if we submit the questions to him, I'm sure he would try to help. The only thing is that we will have wait a while to see them in the NF2 Review. We did the same sort of thing with questions on " strokes and NF2 surgery " a while back. I'm looking forward to seeing what was able to come up with on that. > >I took the liberty of re-wording 's initial list of questions. I think after a few more rounds of review we'll get the wording we want. > >1) If a regrowth occurs on a site treated with radiosurgery, can that site be treated with radiosurgery again? > >2) Is radiosurgery suitable for spinal cord/spine area tumours? > >3) Why do neurosurgeons not like operating on sites previously treated with radiosurgery? > >4) Does radiosurgery cause scaring of healthy tissue?
