Guest guest
Cheryl, I can totally relate to your weight issue. I had gained almost 20n pounds since my accident. I have since lost 27 lbs from diet and exercise. I don't know how well your pain is controlled or where you have RSD. Mine is in my ankle and I was able to do the recumbent bike at the gym. I also do some weights, as muscle will boost your metabolism. I also take Metabolife and Slimfast. This all combined has helped me with my weight loss. I hope you can benefit from my advice. The medication we all take causes weight gain. Some worse than others. Good luck and take care. Hugs, Kris
Guest guest
Hello All, I really like this change. This is such a great idea to merge the group and become one big happy family!! Ok...I have an issue that I would like to bring up for discussion. I am not sure if this has ever been an issue talked about, but it is one that I have found to be a problem. It is weight gain!! Yes, this is a sensitve subject to many, but what a better place for us to discuss this problem than with others that are having the same problem. With me, I gained over 70 pounds after I was diagnosed with RSD. Being 5' 2 " and weight at 225lb...big problem!!! I have managed to lose apox 60lbs in the past year but it has been a huge battle to do and it remains a daily battle!! Since exercise is an important part to weight control, with RSD exercise is not possible in the way that is recommended. Hopefully we can all get some suggestions from each other on how to manage our weight and ways to exercise that we can do. >>>>>HAVE YOU HUGGED YOUR CHILD TODAY?>>>>> Cheryl, I had that problem with taking neurontin than i got sick, with 6 ulcers in my stomach, surgery had 90% of my stomach taken out.. needless to say I lost weight big time.. and was told I would never get heavy again.. I went from 205lbs to 119lbs before I stopped loosing now I weigh near 140 lbs.. but then I flukuate to 129. so I see saw.. I wouldn't suggest to loose weight like I had to ,, that was a tough one.. my meal consisted of 1 teaspoon of baby food strained a day.. > Jeanne, Mike And Shayla <<<HUMANS>>> >>>>I Will NOT Let RSD Control Me<<<< >>Mike 09-23-90 <> Shayla 09-22-91<> Jeanne 08-20-43. Guest guest
Ok, I guess I'm multiple posting... Anyway, I'm afraid any more, to add the things like Metabolife and such, because of blood pressure that is difficult to control. Most of the items I read on those bottles say that one should not take them with high blood pressure. That really irks me, but what can I do. I have a long family history of high blood pressure, then this darn disease.... I think I'm hosed!! With a grin and hoping for a low pain day tomorrow. Twila techal@... Guest guest
Dear Jeannie: This is so weird, I am back on Neurontin, it is making me hyper and I don't ever feel hungry never worked like this before, I wonder what is happening...I do like the weight lose though, but much more to go! I also think that because of the swallowing difficulty it sort of sets me up not to want to choke when I eat..maybe that is a factor too!! love ya!
