Guest guest
Hi- Well, as you would have told me last week, my MRI results showed basically nothing. They showed that my pelvis is tilted, and that I have an abnormaly large amount of fluid in my pelvis. The radiologist, who is a friend of my dad's, was very concerned about the amount of fluid in my pelvis so I had an ultrasound. The ultrasound was inconclusive. He feels that I do not have endometriosis which is the most common cause of pelvic fluid as the cysts on my ovaries are a normal size. He felt that there is probably no correlation between my pain and the fluid so he did not want to order any more invasive tests. Rather, next time I go home to Chicago, he'll do a re-run of the ultrasound to see if the amount of fluid has changed. Also, does anyone know of a PT in St. Louis that is trained in treating vulvodynia? Christy
Guest guest
Allan-My pain is my entire vulvar region and at times of flare-ups, it extends through my rectum and down my legs. All the MRI showed was fluid and some small cysts on my ovaries. The doctor then ordered the ultrasound, expecting to see more signs of endo. However, the ultrasound did not show any more signs of endo (no big cysts or abnormalities around my ovaries). The doctor did say that a recently ruptured cyst could leave fluid, but I would have been in extreme pain if I ruptured a cyst that size.
