Guest guest
I just received a call from Dr. Thayer's office. They contacted my insurance provider and basically got the same information that I did when I called a few weeks ago. They were told that surgery was covered up to $5000, and the hospital stays were covered up to 80%, x-rays, labs, anesthesia, etc.. It is difficult to tell what that all means. I have something called Accident and Sickness insurance which covers students. There is apparently no need for pre-approval, but there is a clause excluding elective surgery. Since I am a soon to be attorney, I feel very uncomfortable with this uncertainty so I just contacted the obesity law center to get a legal opinion about my health care coverage. I figure that it cannot hurt to prepare as much information as possible in preparation for a fight just in case I have the surgery and then for some reason my health care provider decides not to pay for it. So I was just wondering if anyone had used their services. The website was so interesting I was thinking that maybe I should send them my resume!!
