Guest guest Posted June 20, 2000 Report Share Posted June 20, 2000 To further what Ora said, if your company provided benefits to specialists outside the HMO before, those same benefits would apply. For instance, I think mine will pay 80% if you have been referred. So, if you found a specialist, you would need to be referred to her/him, and then the same coverage would apply. I.e., your benefits should be 100% the same whether you are paying because of COBRA or whether you had the insurance while working.
