hmm.. I used to have panic attacks. I was told it was just stress and to

learn to deal. They just went away on their own after a few months. Now,

I get occasional periods where it feels like my heart is racing.

I've had my heart checked out and everything checks out fine.

I never thought about the panic attacks being related to the ms.. panic

attacks were many many years before I heard the words " ms " ,, my a few

years after I think I had my first symptoms.

Someone posted something about a heart murmur, maybe it was alrightguy but I

can't find the message.

When I lived in California, 5 years pre-MS, I used to get panic attacks, was

taken in for tests and told I had Mitral Valve Prolapse and Pleurisy!

Now I'm not so sure of those diagnoses, I think it was MS all the time.

Did anyone elses MS start that way?

I now have a hear murmur. My Lyme doc was quite interested in testing

the heart and gave me an EKG on my first visit. He also listened to

my hear quite intently with a stethoscope. On the first visit 29 Feb

he said one of my upper bicuspid valves might be leaking. On the 9

June visit is when he declared the heart murmur and prescribed some

echo-picture of my heart (which I haven't scheduled yet). More than

any physician I've had, he's spent much time examining my heart.

I'm looking forward to the heart pictures and will likely make some

Valentine's day cards / prove to my little brother that I do in fact

have a heart.

I was recently pre-diagnosed with MS and I remember having panic

attacks about 10 years ago... I find it coincidental that my

Neurologist said I probably have had MS for 10 or more years. I also

have the heart problems and don't know what causes it.

Hope this helps :)

That is very interesting. I wonder if we can make any links here.

Thanks

i've had MVP since I was little, and my MS started immediately after a bout

of pleurisy turned into a spontaneous pneumothorax, which was finally

operated on only after two years of 20% reduced oxygen intake. The MS

started a bit before my operation--though I didn't know what it was at the

time.
