Dear members,

If you are getting leg cramps - especially in your calves. This could be

from low potassium levels. RSD robs us of our potassium. Please have your

doctor get a potassium level check done. The first sign of low potassium is

leg cramps. You can get prescription potassium suplements. You can also eat

potassium rich foods - bananas are a great source of potassium. I know there

are a lot of others but I love bananas so I eat them by the bunches - no pun

intended LOL. Maybe someone can suggest other sources.

Take care,

Trish (Bondi1959)

Well I know that a very good way to get potassium!!!!!!! Raisins have so much

you would not believe it, so since I personally Love chocolate, my favorite way

to get potassium is Chocolate Covered Rasins. Another good source of potassium

is cranberries. The new Craisins they have come out with is easy and good.

Healing Hugs,

Lori

Becareful eating too many bananas if you are latex allergic. The type of

proteins in Natural rubber latex are similar to the ones in certain foods

including bananas. If you have natural rubber latex allergy becafeful when

eating cross reactive foods like bananas.

Thanks Clare!

I am not latex allergic but I am sure some of the members are.

So, listen to Clare! No bananas for the latex allergy patients!

Hugs and a pain free minute,

Deb

Hi Trish and Lori,

Another good remedy for leg cramps is Vitamin E and oral magnesium.

Yes, I eat Bananas, drink OJ and plenty of water.

No chocolate covered raisins, chocolate isn't good for rsd patients. Raisins

I will try.

I think the cramps I am suffering from are a result of the last block I

received. I am having them for the massive herniations of 2 vertebrae. This

is my experience and I have looked back into my journal for pain, and it has

happened after a few blocks. Coincidence? I don't know, but I am holding off

on the last block I am able to get until I can't walk again. I intend telling

my doctors and if I get cramps from that one, well maybe it is something they

can use as warning to other pain clinic patients.

Hugs and a pain free minute,

Deb

HI. DEB HAVE YOU EVER SUFFERED FROM TOTAL BODY CRAMPS WHERE ALL LIMBS ARE IN

SPASM? I HAVE AND NOW THERE WORSE SINCE THEY CUT MY VALIUM FROM 70 MG TO 10MG

(BECAUSE OF THE TOXIC REACTION FROM THE HIGH AMOUNTS OF ALL THE MEDS I WAS

ON) NOW I Have had these before I WENT DOWN ON THE VALIUM AND THEY WOULD WAKE

ME UP. I ALWAYS ASSUMED IT WAS A DEPLETION OF POTASSIUM. I DON'T KNOW. I

HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU. I WENT TO ANOTHER PAIN DOC FOR A SECOND OPINION AND

HE STATED IN STAGE 4 YOU DON'T HAVE PAIN EVERYTHING WOULD BE ATROPHIED SO

NOTHING LEFT TO HURT? I THINK HE NEEDS TO READ UP ON RSD!!! WELL HOPE YOU GET

WALKING SOON TAKE CARE. DEBI 4+
