Guest guest
What unwanted highs? ..RP Subject: Sativex To: " MS-cured " <mscured > Date: Sunday, August 3, 2008, 6:53 PM I've got the chance to be on a clinical trial for Sativex (the controversial under-the-tongue cannabis spray). Since I use MJ itself to manage pain, spasticity, incontinence and balance, I am interested in this. Sativex, it appears, is a natural pharmaceutical made from cannabis with the " unwanted highs " removed. Any thoughts? I'll keep you all posted. Guest guest
Hmmm. I would be OK with the marijuana part of the Sativex but wonder what else might be in the spray. Depending on how ill I was and if I was getting better on my own or not would also factor into the decision. > > I've got the chance to be on a clinical trial for Sativex (the controversial under-the-tongue cannabis spray). > Since I use MJ itself to manage pain, spasticity, incontinence and balance, I

Guest guest
Thanks for your input . The ingredients listed are THC, CBD, Ethanol, Propolene Glycol, Mint Oil - all of which seem ok but then there are artificial colourings (E102, E110, E129, E133) which I am against. Several of these are banned in some countries and I have avoided food colourings for years even prior to MS. For 4 months they are perhaps ok. Guest guest
Yes, I definitely feel MJ helps with pain and spasticity all the while it is in the system. Obviously one can't take it all the time and get anything productive done. I want to see if Sativex has the same effects on these symptoms. Guest guest
Hi Janet. I agree with you MJ is very good at easing spasticity, stiffness and pain. I started smoking MJ about 15 years ago, only smoking enough to relax my legs, never getting a high. When I first heard about the Sativex trials, if it worked for me I would move on to Sativex which will then be legal in the UK. This new trial will be at least the 4th one I have known off. My question as always will be " Will the Drug Cartel let this trial succeed and accept the results. " Yes, I definitely feel MJ helps with pain and spasticity all the while it is in the system. Obviously one can't take it all the time and get anything productive done. I want to see if Sativex has the same effects on these symptoms. Guest guest
I'd have to agree with . Drug makers seem to take a good thing and screw it up most of the time. I think I'd just stick the the natural stuff. (although, I've never tried it.. for ms or otherwise) Yvette > I've got the chance to be on a clinical trial for Sativex (the > controversial under-the-tongue cannabis spray). > Since I use MJ itself to manage pain, spasticity, incontinence and balance, > I am interested in this. Guest guest
I don't think it's a good idea to be any corporate guinea pig. I've been a guinea pig for myself and most of the time the products or herbs that I've used have caused healing reactions. It's better not to put faith in something that sounds too good to be true. I always start with lower than recommended doses of products now, if I use them at all. > > To update you all, I am NOT now taking part in the Sativex trial and would dissuade others from using it until more is known.
