Guest guest
Hi folks, Sorry to cross post, but I have a basic question... what are you supposed to do if you have a blockage? I have a sort of blocked feeling in my chest, like when I used to swallow a pill and it didn't go down all the way. It's not painful, and I don't feel like I want to throw up.... it's just there. I tried drinking water, and that didn't seem to do anything. Now, I'm having a CIB, and the feeling is still there... not changing. Any suggestions?? - Alice A. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I had the same thing this morning that I have for the past week: 1 Zantac, then 15 minutes later 2 chewable vitamins, then an hour later a smooth yogurt. I may have eaten too much yogurt maybe? - Alice A.
Guest guest
Lyssa, Thanks for that recipe, I will hold onto it! The feeling seems to have lessened. I really haven't eaten anything solid, so I can't imagine that it's a blockage. The CIB went down fine, and I'm drinking water now, so I guess it's all passing through. Weird. Another thing, it seems like every time I eat or drink something, I get this hiccup/burp/pressure sensation that's very uncomfortable. It only lasts a few seconds, but it's annoying. Sound familiar? - Alice A.
Guest guest
Dawn, Thanks for the advice. It seems to have passed now, and liquids have gone down fine. Guest guest
Lyssa, I think you're right. I realized my " sips " were pretty big, so I'm amking them smaller now. Thanks! - Alice A.
Guest guest
Alice, What did you eat to possibly get stuck? If it is something stuck, usually it causes pain, unless of course you did chew enough, but it was dry. I would try water first, nothing too thick, and if you experience any pain, call your Dr., if you think it's something major that could be stuck. I get that weird feeling once in a while, when I eat breads, starches, etc., but it usually passes within an hour or so. Dawn Blockage? Guest guest
One good unblocker is you really think its a true blockage is to take some warm water & mix a tablespoon of Adolph's meat tenderizer into it & mix it up - drink it - doesn't taste the very best but acts like Draino and will get rid of it. I have one friend who swears by sipping a bit of full strength Coke but that might also be uncomfortable but the fizzy powerfulness of Coke has unblocked her on several occasions. Personally i'd go with the tenderizer .. there is nothing in it that will make you dump and no carbonation. Lyssa Re: Blockage? Guest guest
I'm not sure Alice...is it possible maybe the Zantac never fully dissolved and passed through? Sometimes even when liquids, you do get the " up to the throat " full feeling. How are you now that time has passed? Dawn Re: Blockage? Guest guest
Alice, It's what they call gas. Yup, you either hiccup, burp, get the pressure, or just let is pass! Blondie Re: Blockage? Guest guest
Yes it does .. in the early days I was a walking gurgling, burping hiccup'ing machine .. it goes away with time .. try sipping your liquids slower. lyssa Re: Blockage? Stuck and puked the phlegm for a long time! The moral to the story is, don't always listen to good suggestions! Dawn Re: Blockage? Dawn, Thanks for the advice. Guest guest
Here is the website where I first learned about Adolph's meat tenderizer .. http://members.tripod.com/Daryl_D/Blockage01.html He has lost 183 lbs in a year and weighs 181 I believe now .. His quote is below about what happens when you have a good blockage. I think I said a tbs .. and he is recommending a pinch. " THE BEST REMEDY FOR THIS IS TO TAKE A PINCH OF ADOLPH'S MEAT TENDERIZER DISSOLVED IN A CUP OF WARM WATER AND SIP IT!!!! This must be done slowly to help break up the food ball and allow it to pass.
