Guest guest
Jai, I love my doctor and he has tried everything possible and the SCS was the final option. I am also having a problem with the SCS battery/pulse generator. He put it in my buttock area. I guess they cut a pocket and install it. For some reason, the skin closest to the incision is as the doctor put it is " thinning " so it feels like the battery is trying to push itself out when you sit. Kind of like sitting on a thick wallet which gives you the feeling like it's trying to push itself out when you sit. The second problem is with all the voltage fluctations I am having. If I tilt my head backward slightly the voltage increases. If I move my head down toward my chest the voltage almost completely drops off. Now to complicate things more, when I lay on my back the voltage increase because the wires/electrode push against my spine. There is no winning. The last problem is that in the top portion of my back is where they connect all the wires using a plastic sleeve connector. I now have pain there. It starts in the morning sore and the discomfort turns to pain by early afternoon. Needless to say I can't sleep on my left side very well. At this point, I am going to give the unit three more months. Then I will turn the unit off for one or two months and monitor my progress. If all things stay constant, then I am going to have it removed. I know w/c wants to settle and I want to make sure they pay the expenses to have all this stuff removed. The thought of getting cut up again and the possiblity that the RSD could spread isn't a pleasant thought either. Hope this helps. The surgery was no piece of cake. I had 3 five inch incisions.
