AIDS vaccine trial on track: Ramadoss

PUNE, SEPTEMBER 19: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr

Anbumani Ramadoss today expressed satisfaction at the status of the

clinical trial of the anti-AIDS vaccine on humans. He announced that

yet another trial to test the MVA will begin within a month at the

Tuberculosis Research Centre at Chennai.

Ramadoss was on a tour of the National AIDS Research Institute

(NARI), where the country's first ever clinical trial on humans for

an anti-AIDS vaccine are on.

NARI director R S Paranjape said that the participants in the first

phase of the clinical trial are set to receive the highest level

dose. The middle level dose of the vaccine has already been tested.
