BBC World Service Trust (BBC WST) conducts a mass media campaign in support of the Government of India's efforts to promote knowledge of HIV/AIDS and sustained behaviour change. The campaign produces public service announcements and two award-winning television serials: Jasoos Vijay and Haath se Haath Milaa. BBC World Service Trust believes that audience research and evaluation play an important role in the success of our media projects. BBC WST is looking for an experienced Senior Researcher to support quantitative and qualitative research for the BBC WST's HIV/AIDS mass media project in India. The Senior Researcher will have a minimum of 8 years experience and strong analytical skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research. The Research Officer will have at least 4 years experience. The Senior Researcher and Research Officer will have excellent written and oral communication skills, including report writing. Strong English communication skills are essential; Hindi and at least one other Indian language desirable. Experience in the media, development and health promotion sectors is a clear advantage. The main duties of the Senior Researcher are: 1. Coordinate and implement qualitative and/or quantitative research activities. 2. Liaise with field agencies to monitor quality control and timely delivery of field work. 3. Coordinate the production of stimulus materials for focus group discussions, liaising with contractors, creative staff and research agencies. 4. Commission and monitor focus group studies, working to budget and deadline requirements. 5. Prepare research presentations that inform the creative process. 6. Analyse qualitative data research findings. 7. Supervise the work of Research Officers 8. Financial tracking The Research Officer will provide support to the above duties.
