Guest guest
Hi All, this is very interesting!! Who wouldn't be depressed? It's such a long and winding road for so many of us!! I know I began to think those specialists were right about " it's all in your head''. Funny, when it REALLY was those same medx specialists were EMBARASSED to tell me . I have had a shunt. I am doing OK. I have had an anuerysm clipped so can't have MRIs for a more definitive diagnosis. When I get symptoms I try to enlist compromise and compensation in my activities of daily living. I have had satisfactory results, to date. I have had good results from naturopathic and over-the-counter meds, too. WHATEVER WORKS!! Guest guest
Dear Connie, I know this is going to sound oversimplified, and trite, but I have been where you are and I have found that if I drink a hot cup of chamomile tea, sit with my feet propped up and close my eyes and think pleasant thoughts it helps. I'll be praying for you. hugs Ardie [R.D.] Depression I have been through depressive spells but this week takes the cake. I have not been dressed or outside my house for over a week. My ears are ringing like crazy, and my rope has room more another knot in it. I slept through some of it, being awake is like a big panic attack. I feel like I am losing it big time. Have already taken my usual bedtime meds in hope they wipe me out. Nightmares I can survive. Don't know what in the hell is going on, have never here before. Guest guest
Connie, are you currently taking an antidepressant medication? If not, call your doc right now, and get in to see him/her. Lupus, and other conditions related to it, like fibromyalgia, can cause depression. It is a clinical condition, caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It doesn't mean you are " crazy " , but it CAN lead to psycho- logical disturbances which can be life threatening. Please see your doctor about this condition you have described, and get properly treated. Keep us updated on your progress, please. Loving hugs, MM aka: Mike

Guest guest
Connie, Have they tried any antidepressant for more than two months? Sometimes, it takes a while for it to do any good, and sometimes it needs a higher dosage than the one you begin with. I know I take double the amount of Prozac I started with, but it has worked for me for a long time, now, and I don't dare stop it. I tried that once, and ended up almost killing myself. Can't have that! What would the world do without me? LOL Take care, and keep us posted, honey. Love, MM
Guest guest
Mike, They have me on Paxil CR, they have tried Zoloft, Prozac. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and I see my therapist on Tuesday. Gentle hugs for your concern. Connie Re: Depression Connie, are you currently taking an antidepressant medication? Guest guest
Connie, I know that you were talking to someone else about depression meds, but I wish you could try celexa. It has worked wonders on me! Anyway, I just wanted to ask. a
