Guest guest
Melina, I believe an elevated prolactin level and leaking breasts, with no menstruation ,is a sign of a pituatary gland problem. Unless you recently had a baby and are still nursing , you should ask for brain CAT scan or MRI. I wish you good luck. Sounds like your doc is outdated, if he doesn't recognize these symptoms as endocrine-related. ;-) a wink and a smile can last quite a while. Guest guest
Chip and Others, Dowager's Hump is a fatty tissue hump that develops on the upper thoracic area where it joins the cervicle area. It develops when there has been a breakdown of some type in the cervicle spine. I guess it would be appicable to Chiari in that some persons that have Chiari also have degenerative changes in the cervicle spine of various causes. I would guess(I don't KNOW this for sure) it could be found in some post op Chiari patients as well. It is usually seen in postmenopausal women due to osteoporosis. Some women have liposuction to remove this fat build up so the best picture I could find was at a cosmetic surgeon's site here: http://www.coronadoskin.com/lipodh.html Horner's Syndrome is also something that we have all seen occasionally. It is suggestive of a cervicle spinal cord lesion of some type. The signs of this are small pupils, and ptosis(this is a droopy eyelid - I have one on my left eye side which is the side my symptoms started on) It seems to me that I have usually seen this on one side only, but I am sure one could have both eyelids droop especially if the cervicle cord lesion is centerly located. The person with this tendes to have very dry facial skin and may look older than their age. I don't know where to find a photo of this. I do believe that they might occur in association with Chiari or " Chiari Syndrome " as they are both only benign signs of a cervicle spine disorder. Guest guest
I found anismus in Taber's meaning " excessive contraction of the external sphincter of the rectum. " Hope this helps! (no subject) Doctor dictates, This is a very pleasant 61-year-old Hispanic lady who presents with occasional sudden pains in the anus associated with some S/L ANTINESMIS on a rare sporadic basis for several years. It does not sound like he is saying emesis.
