Even I would like to the name of the NGOs who is providing free ARVs drugs. I think the Loon's question should be answered. Guest guest
Dear Loon & the Moderator, Re: Information on, where did the numbers 50,000 recieving ART at NGO comes from (Kavita Chauhan posting on 08/1104, UNGASS report),. She must have wrongly quoted from the WHO 3 by 5 June 2005 update. According to the said report number of persons accessing ART in India (be it NGOs, GOs, Private Institutions, etc. etc)has been estimated to 33000 to 67000 which means only 4% to 9%. And the unmet figure of those needing ART is 735,000. Can you imagine that? Last year Sushma Swaraj promised to provide ART to 100,000 by April 2005 in India. But I belief the Government with the support from WHO were able to provide to only few thousands.
