Guest guest
Thank you. Its really great to talk to you and Ina about this. I have stayed clear of ankle braces in the past because of their bulk under my foot or in the shoe, and the unpleasant sensation over the outside ankle where I had the old scar from the operation. (which I guess is going to be sensitive again now.) For the longest time I couldn't find a pair of riding boots even that didn't rub painfully on that ankle, so I wore sneaker type shoes. You're right about the just wait and try and see what happens. That is all I can do now I guess. Mike has said that once I have the brace/s for my ankles we are going to go out and buy me a decent pair of boots/shoes. Because I really can't afford to be in cheap sneakers anymore. I am inclined to agree. <SMILE> I can smell a shopping spree on the wind! hee hee hee Anyway... Thank you again. I am going to try to put it out of my mind now, until I get them, and concentrate on why this damn ankle keeps swelling everytime I walk on it in this " Walking cast " when it swells up, it hurts like hell. I was back on the pain killers today. But I have to be up and on it because Sha'rae (my darling horse) has decided to go one better than me. She sliced herself open just below the knee. Its a lovely three corner tear. And I am having to wash, dress and tend to her everyday. So much for staying laid up and getting this leg better!?!? Wish I knew what was causing the flamin' swelling? Hugz............... Helen Not sure if we can get it over the counter here either - just meant it is built like an over the counter type brace. My doc did have some right in his office though. My injury was different - had dislocated my ankle and in the process dug a couple holes in the talus bone (the bone right underneath the ankle bone). Also hurt the tendons that run on the outside of the ankle toward the front. I found that this brace restricted side to side movement very well. As for whether or not it will rub that tendon I really don't know. It does have depressions where the ankle bone sticks out but it still may press on that area. Think this is going to be one of those won't know till you try it things!
