Guest guest
have you considered blending your coffees? Perhaps two parts decaf to one part caffeinated? I'm sure with a little experimenting you'll find a blend which stimulates you but doesn't mess with your weight loss. Guest guest
Thank you for the suggestion, but I really need to just give it up. It's not really the stimulation I want, in fact, I think I do better w/ out it, but the temperature and flavor. I cannot tolerate the acid in the decaf, it aggrevates one of my list of medical conditions, and I buy an acid neutralized instant coffee, but I've never seen it in decaf. The neutralizers I take for other things don't work too good with coffee, the powder just clumps up in the bottom of the cups and the tablets make me sick to my stomach. Oh well. Guest guest
You know, I'm glad you mentioned the caffeine. I have been off caffeine for several months. This past weekend we went to vist some friends for the weekend. They drink real coffee, so I had coffee with caffeine while I was there. Didn't think too much about it although I did notice I got the jitters. Well, Monday morning, I was up 3 pounds. Maybe it was the caffeine that contributed - also the margueritas!! (LOL) But I did feel more bloated, so it was probably a combination. Henri in Dallas
Guest guest
Of course you have to gradually reduce your caffeine, because it is an addiction. Gns >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks for the info and suggestion. I might give it a shot one of these days. Right now I'm trying to concentrate on my dietary changes. Guest guest
I recently occasionally started treating myself to some coca colas (regular coke, not diet). I know this is not healthy (because of the high fructose corn syrup and other ingredients), but each day I drank it I had the most energy and I felt the most like my old self in terms of energy and mental clarity. I am trying to stop it now, because I know in the long run it's not good for me. But truly, those coca-cola days have been the best I have had in a long time. And I wonder why it makes me feel so much better. I've never been a coffee drinker. My old habbit (pre-MS) was the diet coke. I have been off that since the diagnosis, and I think the massive amounts of aspartame I used to consume contributed to my condition. Guest guest
Sugar high. You would have real energy if you ate better. > > I recently occasionally started treating myself to some coca colas > (regular coke, not diet).
