Coordination of Action Research on AIDS and Mobility in Asia

(CARAM-Asia) is a network of migrant support organizations in 11

countries in Asia with the secretariat based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

CARAM's mission is to empower migrant workers and their communities

through the promotion and protection of their rights and creation of an enabling

environment at all stages of migration to reduce health and HIV/AIDS

vulnerability.

The CARAM secretariat is looking for a Regional Coordinator to lead the

secretariat based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

*Skill Requirements:*

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Must possess excellent skills in the following:

program development, implementation and evaluation

networking and advocacy

resource mobilization and fund sourcing

*Experience:*

·Must have at least five years regional experience in the field

of migration and/or health (preferably HIV/AIDS), gender and human rights

·Proven track record of leadership in previous employment or work

*Salary Scale: *Negotiable depending on skills and experience **

·Assume responsibility for the day to day operation of the

secretariat and the network, including financial operations

· Provide overall lead and direction in the program development,

implementation, monitoring and evaluation

·Undertake resource mobilization and fund sourcing

·When necessary, represent the organization in regional

advocacies, campaigns, activities and events

·Coordinate and manage the team at the secretariat*//*

*Contract period:*

·Initially for two years (2006-2007) with a possibility of

extension.
